Social Development Program

T’Sou-ke Nation’s Social Development department works with community members to improve their quality of life and achieve success, whatever their circumstances. The department helps members connect with employment services, income assistance, and other social programming.

Who is Eligible for the Program?

Social Development is an Indigenous Services Program (ISC) delivered by the Nation to indigenous and non-indigenous persons living on T’Sou-ke reserve lands. All policy is set out by ISC.

Appointments

Appointments are required and are available Mondays through Thursdays from 9am–12pm and 1pm–4:30pm. To schedule, please call 250-642-3957 ext. 236 or email via the button below.

How to Apply

To apply for programming, you will need to provide two valid, up-to-date pieces of ID, a copy of your 2024 tax return, a 30-day bank statement, and a copy of your Hydro bill. You will also need to provide a signed consent form and a completed 2025 application, found via the links included here.

Monthly Declarations & Cheque Schedule

If you are a current client receiving social assistance, please ensure your declarations are handed in by the due date to avoid a delay in receiving your cheque. Please refer to the schedule below to determine declaration due dates and cheque issue dates.

EFT Payments Notice

Please be advised that Income Assistance payments are now issued via Electronics Funds Transfer (EFT). While the exact time the funds will appear in your account may vary, payments will be deposited by the end of the day on the scheduled Income Assistance payment dates.

If the payment does not appear in your account on the scheduled date, please wait until the next business day before contacting the office. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Notice for all Clients

Declarations and Job Search Forms must be picked up directly from Yvonne.  This ensures that all required documents are properly signed before the next cheque issue date.

Friendly Reminders

  • If you’re working, submit income verification slips with your monthly declarations.
  • Provide monthly utility bills to ensure timely payment.
  • Print your name clearly on your declaration and don’t forget to sign it!
