T’Sou-ke Nation is one of five members of the Te’mexw Treaty Association (TTA), along with Beecher Bay (SC’IA/NEW), Malahat, Snaw-Naw-As, and Songhees.
These Coast Salish Nations joined to support one another and to work together under one organization to negotiate five Nation-specific modern treaties with the federal and provincial governments in the British Columbia treaty process.
The TTA is currently in the fifth stage of a six-stage treaty process. A treaty and a constitution will be voted on by each of the Te’mexw member Nations. The treaties being negotiated by TTA on behalf of the member Nations and the provincial and federal governments deal with a wide range of issues that include governance, land, resources, and fiscal matters.
